The Gird Writing Camp takes off in October




The Gird Center, a writing and editorial firm based in Accra, is organizing a Writing Camp that aims to support writers, scholars and entrepreneurs. 

The Gird Writing Camp is a two-tiered interactive writing program that seeks to help young writers, scholars, and entrepreneurs develop and enhance their writing skills. 

The Camp which takes place on October 18, October 25 and November 1, 2014, is bringing together distinguished Experts in the Academic, Business, & Creative Fields including Prof. Ama Ata Aidoo, Renowned Writer, Mr. Ramie Baitie Group Head, Marketing & Corporate Affairs, UT Holdings, Dr. Mawuli Adjei, Writer, Snr. Lecturer, University of Ghana, Mr. Paul Ababio, Business Consultant, Paul & Associates and Dr. Kweku Ainuson, Business Lawyer, Snr. Partner  AB Lexmall & Associates to offer advice on diverse areas of creative, academic and business writing.

The Camp comprises a one-day intensive seminar per area, as well as a special month-long writing consultancy package. 

This year’s writing camp will focus on three major areas: Business Writing, Academic Writing and Creative Writing. Participants can choose the areas of writing they are interested in. 
 
Topics to be covered in the Business Writing module includes how to write a Business plan, project proposals, letters, and investment memos. The Academic Writing module will cover the components of writing a thesis or dissertations, drawing up questionnaires, interviews, research, and much more. 
 
The Creative writing module will discuss poetry, short stories, drama, fiction and non-fiction.
A special consultancy package after the one-day seminar enables participants to have sustained support in their writing over a one-month period.
